Getting HEX code and not RAW data

Post by arishy »

I have NEC remote and when I try to decode the buttons, using AnalysIR software; sometimes I get the Hex code and sometimes I get the RAW. How do I setup the software to give me ONLY Hex code?

This is most likely because you are getting a poor capture of the signal.

AnalysIR has a feature that can work-around this. Simply increase the "tolerance" slider for that channel until; it is decoded.

However, it is always better to get a good capture in the first place. To help with this do the following:
- keep the remote about 1->2m away from the receiver.
- point the remote directly at the receiver.
- avoid any reflective surfaces in the vicinity
- Finally, make sure the batteries are good in the remote

Once you get a good capture you can then use the 'Clean" feature under the Power Tools menu to correct the timings of the decoded signal.

Hex number respresent ONE number.
If I give you 2 Dollar bills in a bad shape, you will return it to me in 200 cents format ( it has to be). The question is why the software send me back two dollar bill, hopefully NEW. The reason I am saying this When I resend the RAW is send me back the EXACT value of the code.

I will make sure to follow your guide line. Thank you for your reply
